Delicate floral gift box with acetate lid

Good evening my friends,

i was so pleased with yesterday´s wedding favours using this die set, i decided to create a pretty gift box from it today!
The box has a clear acetate lid that allows to see through the die cut flower panels what´s inside the box. For today´s pictures i decided to fill the pink box with Raffaello pralines, and the box easily will hold 8 Raffaellos or Ferrero Rocher pralines.

I made three boxes in various colours and they all look beautiful, no matter what the colour scheme is!

Here are the measurements for the  box and the 2 die cut panels as well as the acetate:

card stock for the box:
8 1/4" x 7 1/2"
score on the long side at 1 1/4" and 7"
score on the short side at 3/8",1 5/8", 5 7/8",7 1/8"
card stock for the two white panels:
1 x 4 1/4" x 9 2/8"
1x 4 1/4" x10 3/4"
score both panels on the long side at 5 3/4" and 7 1/8"
acetate for the lid:
4 1/4" x 5 3/4"

You will need to do some cutting on the short side, the scoring lines have formed two very thin flaps at the outer sides and two wider flaps right next to the thin ones. You need to cut in vertically to the first scoring line on all 4 flaps, I wedged the wider flaps on both sides for a better fit.
I assembled the box, gluing the thin flaps, that form the side borders that later on will hold the lid in place, first to the main flaps that form the box. After that i glued the main flaps to the sides of the box , assembling it to the shape as seen in the pictures.
I then die cut the two panels, using the bigger die on the longer piece and the shorter die on the other piece.
I then glued the two white panels to the bottom of my box, layering on to each other.
Make sure to not apply glue to the sides of the box!
Once the panels were in place, i fed a colour coordinated ribbon through my panels and attached the acetate to the larger side of the die cut panels , using wet glue for it.
The acetate then closes up the box when you tie the ribbon to a bow and when you open the box, it can easily be lifted with the panel that it´s stuck to.

I hope you love these boxes as much as i do.
Thanks for dropping by and have a good night

JoJo xx
