Hi everybody,
today, i want to show you the "Box in a Card" Christmas Card that i saw from Sandy Carlson who introduced the design first , at least i believe she did.
The Card is 5" x 7" and accommodates a little 2" detachable gift box that allows to add a small gift to the card.I think the idea is super cute and a great template for birthday cards as well, what do you think?
I created a free video tutorial for this design and you can watch it here:
The measurements are as follows:
For the card base
10" x7 ", score at 5" on the long side, fold and score the marks for the box at 3 1/2" and 5 1/2" on the fold line as seen in the tutorial.
For the box,cut
10" x 10" and 6 1/8" x 6 1/8", score the first piece at 2", 4" 6" and 8" on both sides,
and the second pece at 1" and 2" on all 4 sides.
The DSP for your little box needs
1 x 1 7/8" x 1 7/8" and
4 x 1 7/8" x 3/4"
For the front panels, cut one piece from card stock to 6 1/2" x 3"
and a piece of DSP to 6 1/4" x 2 3/4".
For the die cut parts, cut a piece of card stock to 5 3/4" x 2 3/8" and die cut the snowflake border from it.
For the insert, cut one piece of copy paper in white to 6 3/4" x 3 1/2" and a piece of vellum to 6 3/4" x 3 3/4" and score it at 3 1/2" on the long side.
I hope you love this idea from Sandy as much as i do and will enjoy making your own cards!
Below you will find the list of all the used materials.
Thanks for dropping by today and have a good evening
JoJo xx
