I think this box is very versatile and as it is easy to make, suitable for beginners, too.
It makes a great box for home made Pralinés or maybe jewelry, but you can also use it without the trays and put something larger in it.
The possibilities on how to decorate this box are sheer endless, too so why don´t you try to decorate it with DSP for a change?
Of course, using mirror card stock adds to the elegance of this box, but maybe i could inspire you to play around with things and create a different look altogether!
