Today i felt like making one of these exploding bixes with a podest in the center , as they are really pretty and allow a good size of gift to be placed in them on the podest.
I chose to use the foiled effect papers and combined it with plain cream coloured card stock and left space for a sentiment to be stamped between the flowers.
I don´t know yet what i will use it for so i left that to the future.
It was good fun making one of these and its as easy as 1,2, 3...
made from a 12" x 12 " piece of card stock i just scored at the 4 " and 8" mark on each side and then scored the 4 corners diagonally so they can fold up to the inside of the box.
I then created the lid from the same cardstock, making it from a 6 5/8" x 6 5/8" square piece, scoring all 4 sides at 1 3/4 " and putting the lid together with scor tape.
What was left to make was the podest, using a piece of card stock that measures 9 3/4" by 5 1/4".
I scored the short side at 3/4 and 4 1/2"
then sored the long side at
3/4, 4 1/2, 5 1/4, and 9 "
then assembled the podest to a flat box and secured it with scor tape to the bottom of the box.
what was left was to decorate the inside and outside panels and that can be done to any individual taste and occasion.
I hope you like my litte exploding box - which ain´t that little btw - and maybe i have inspired you to give it a go as well?
Until then , thanks for looking
