German " Schultüte" for first day at school! - free video tutorial -

Good evening dear friends,

today, i want to show you a  German Schultüte, which is given to boys and girls on their very first day at primary school!
It is a German tradition where all boys and girls who officially become schoolkids are given a Schultüte by their parents, godparents , uncles, aunts and whoever wants to give them a happy first day at school.
The Schultüte traditionally is  filled with sweets and goodies like pencils, sharpeners, small toy and anything else you can think of.

Every child will proudly carry their Schultüte to school on their first day and i know this is completely unknown to British people.

However, in Germany this is a old tradition and countrywide the new schoolkids will proudly carry their  Schultüte to school on their first day, usually in August.
The one i made here today was made from a 12" piece of card stock in lemon lime twist and stamped all over with the paysleys & posies  stamp set.
I used mossy meadow and lemon lime twist ink pads to stamp my card stock.
The Eastern Palace die set was used to create the medallion and the 3Dflowers that are evenly distributed all over the Schultüte.

The closure is made from a piece of white felt that got glued to the inside of the Schultüte with hot glue, tied shut with a selection of colour matching ribbons and a tag.

I hope you like this idea and maybe some English school kids will start school this year with  a goodie filled Schultüte as well!

Thanks for looking and have a nice week

JoJo xx
